Feeling Cozier in September

Ah, its finally September, my favorite time of the year (ok, after Christmas). I am so ready for a new month, cooler weather, more work, new friends, a birthday celebration, pumpkin candles, lattes, and cheesecake, flats, fall jackets, and hoodies! Even though I don't start a new school year each September anymore, it still feels like a new start. I've had a few endings this summer and now I'm ready for some new beginnings.

Not sure if you've noticed but I've been complaining about my beautiful apartment since I moved in. I think I've told everyone who has visited that I want to move my couch in order to make a separate living room area. Every person has looked me in the eye and told me that's not a good idea. Earlier this week, I lit my first Autumn candle (may have been before September 1, don't judge!), felt inspired to think for myself and moved my couch. And guess what? I love it! My place feels so much cozier and now I really want to be here :) It may seem crazy that this makes me happy but moving to a new city and feeling pretty alone, I need to feel comfy in my home, ok? I still have some wall pictures to move around and possibly buy a new piece of furniture, but I love the new set up. What do you think? Any suggestions for a better arrangement?

The new setup looks awesome, Hil! Can't wait to see it next weekend. Glad you're finally, finally, finally getting comfy and cozy. Just wait until the leaves start to fall! I'm thinking a small table between the bookshelf and the couch would look nice. I'm sure you're already looking for one, though. It's almost birthday time! I've made a few Philly blog friends, so I'm asking them for a few Philly ideas. The suggestions may have to do w/ hot yoga though. Ahh! Check out FARMiCiA's facebook fan page. They featured my post from our dinner there ;)

Missy and I were just discussing what we're each going to get you for your birthday. Hope you're getting excited! I'm also trying to figure out what I'm going to wear to your birthday night out this year. Possibly the same thing as last. Okay, so I guess blog comments substitute for phone calls now. Missy would be so disgusted! See you Wednesday! <3

Thanks Jessica! That means a lot because most people hate it but I like the color. Maybe I will keep it now :)
