The weather has been beautiful lately, cool and sunny. Aka perfect! I'm going out with friends to celebrate my birthday so I felt like having a lazy Saturday in preparation of a big night out. Although I am excited about tonight, I am a little disappointed big sis can't come too, she is in NYC on call for work. But maybe this is better, we don't want a repeat of last year!
So earlier today Riley and I went for a walk to enjoy the weather and hopefully get some nice fall pictures but the leaves in Philly haven't turned yet! Disappointed we headed back to Pine Street to make the apartment feel like autumn. We got settled in with some sweet dreams cookies, dug the fall decorations out of the basement and went to town. As you have probably assumed, there isn't much to do since I don't have a whole house anymore, but I did my best! This sparkly pumpkin is my favorite, but it might need a new coat of glitter this year!

I also found a recipe for pumpkin bars on
Gingerbread Bagels, such a cute blog! I actually got many, many yummy ideas but I just had to try this one today. A girl after my own heart, a blog dedicated to the gingerbread bagels Panera offers around the holidays. I was not aware of this delicious treat and will have to try it in November! Anyway, back to the task at hand. I whipped up these pumpkin bars in about ten minutes so I have enough time to blog before the girls get here!

I will post pictures of the finished product tomorrow morning (breakfast for my overnight guests, shhh). Time to get ready! Cheers!
After a fun night of dancing, toasting, laughing, eating, and sore feet we are awake and ready to devour this pumpkin delight! With hot drinks all around we sat down to enjoy our healthy breakfast. It tasted more like cake rather than bars but that was fine with me! A wonderful way to end a fun and relaxing weekend with the girls!
