Barbuzzo

So I'm almost finished with my apartment decorating. Coffee table? Check. Comfy couch? Check. Huge TV? Check. But after moving my couch to the middle of the room, and pushing my TV to the very end of the blank wall, I am left with one enormous, blank canvas. I've been going back and forth with what should go here, one large picture, a few smaller ones, hanging up the TV like a piece of art (much to mother's dismay), nothing???

Then last week I went to my first BYOB dinner with some Philly girls and was inspired by the hostess', Meagan, new apartment. I was invited to join this new group of girls, some know each other and some don't, who meet once a month to enjoy food, wine, and female company. I left that night feeling refreshed and excited to be a single girl in the city! But I also left with visions of Meagan's Pottery Barn bar dancing in my head. Sorry I didn't get any pictures, I decided I shouldn't be that weird girl right from the beginning. Her apartment was full of old furniture that she had refinished and pulled together into a grown up home. She told us that the one piece she splurged on was this bar and it surely served as a focal point for the room.
I don't know about you, but I love it. I love the cream finish inside and the layers of shelves. She had rolled up aprons and kitchen towels where she didn't have wine to fill the holes. I love this piece and can picture it in my apartment but I have two problems. Its $1000 and its HUGE. So here some other choices:

This one is nice, but I may just like the display on top - champagne! But it seems to be a little more country than my taste.

My favorite is a combination of these two photos. I would only want two pieces, one with a cabinet and one with a wine rack. It's not too large for my entryway, it will provide tons of extra storage, and it will look beautiful. How does this solve my blank wall problem you ask? Let me pull it all together for you...

One shelf that runs the width of the bar, a place for decorations and pictures. I think that is a wonderful solution to covering a huge, blank, white wall. I have such problems, don't I? What do you think? Any other ideas?

Phew, your life is hard.

I really like the one that you think is "country" looking with the shelves above. You'll totally make it your own. The other pieces seem too dark and heavy for your place and style. Those shelves will be so fun! Can't wait until next weekend! Lil. crayon. dance.
