Creating New Memories in Philly

Last weekend I had great experiences around the city with some of my favorite people. Saturday night sent Bf and I to a Phillies game (a gift for his graduation from grad school - congrats!). We enjoyed a beautiful night of baseball from our seats behind home plate. Bf loved listening to all my baseball memories, ones shared at Veteran's stadium with my Dad, my days as an all star softball player (very short lived), and hot summer nights spent listening to games on the radio. Baseball will always hold a special place in my heart so when the season rolls around, I'm immediately filled with nostalgia. And to be living in the city where all these memories came from makes it feel like home. On this night, the Phillies won, we caught up with one of Bf's friend, shared a cheesesteak and some beers, and went home with a few new baseball memories.
The next morning my Mom and my sisters were headed to Philly to celebrate Mother's Day in Philly. We all met at my place and then walked to brunch at the Morris Hotel in Washington Square. We were looking forward to having a nice meal together in a beautiful, spring garden in the middle of the city.
We sat down and admired our surroundings, even dreamed about a wedding taking place in this serene place. It all looked amazing until we got our coffee. I won't go into detail about how awful our service and food was this day, I will simply say I don't think we have ever complained so much about a meal. I even wrote a follow up note to the owner about how disappointed we all felt when we left.

But we moved on from this with style and didn't let it ruin our day. We browsed the farmers market, snacked on some cheese and crackers, and shopped our way to PYT burger for an early dinner. Thankfully the second meal was better than the first, we all left smiling, my Mom most importantly.
