Celebrating the First Year

*Note to readers: this blog is exceptionally mushy and gushy, so if you're not in the mood for love, keeping moving!

Last weekend Bf and I celebrated one year of bringing happiness into each other's lives. Back when we had been dating for a few months we created a list of "to do's" in Philly. One of the things on the list was to visit the Art Museum again, the site of our first date. We had immediately agreed that if (when) we made it to our anniversary we would go back to this place, one year to the day we first met. Last Sunday we found ourselves walking up the famous Rocky stairs on another beautiful fall day.
I took a cab to meet Bf for the first time last year and our original plan was to meet at an obvious landmark - the Rocky statue. But we hadn't predicted that when I arrived there would be a huge line of tourists waiting to snap photos. So I had to walk past all those fools posing like Rocky, rounded a corner and found him sitting on a bench, waiting for me. We often reminisce about the feeling we had the first time we saw each others smiling faces. So we had to pose for a picture on "our bench".

After browsing some art, we decided to get to dinner at the Rose Tattoo Cafe, the place where we shared our first meal. We got seated at the same table and proceeded to enjoy our second wonderful meal there. We enjoyed sharing our favorite memories with each other and dreaming about our future. I have to say that I never imagined that I could feel so happy and content in a relationship, and it has been an amazing experience. The lesson for today is that if I could find it, so can you (if you're looking)!
