Since we've secured the location and date, next on the list is the wedding party. It was no brainer that my sisters (and two best friends) would be in my "maids of honor". It's what we do, the three of us, supporting each other in every part of our lives. They truly believe in my relationship with hubby-to-be and best of all, are excited about the wedding! This makes the wedding planning fun when I can swap ideas with both of them. So because they are excited about this union, I wanted to officially ask them to be in my wedding by doing something creative.
We had scheduled a June sister weekend and discussed trying on wedding dresses while they were in town. I checked with my Mom and then secured an appointment at a Philly bridal salon. Then I got to work on my sister's gifts. I had so many ideas that it was hard not to go overboard. I wanted to ask the question in a creative way, share the wedding palette, my pinterest wedding collection, and some girly gifts. Etsy has become a dream come true for handmade gifts made by someone else's crafty hands!
Once I put all these ideas together, I decided to pop the question using bottles of wine with custom labels. Then I chose a paper box to wrap a purse for each of them, nail polish and file in our wedding colors, a booklet of wedding pictures that have inspired me, and a lavender sachet for their dresser drawers.
My sister's were surprised, teary eyed, and happy with their gifts. Mission accomplished! I am so happy to have them by my side and can't wait to share all the special moments that are to come.
