The next morning we were up and ready to fill our bellies again. Since we all love a good farmer's market, we got a recommendation for one along the river and hopped in the car. It was a nice drive through the city, Minneapolis seems small and quiet with a quick glance, but if you dig a little deeper there's so much to do, see, and eat. The Mill City Farmers Market turned out to be one of the best I've been to.

The Mill City Farmer's Market
We were all so excited when we first arrived that we went our separate ways, checking out the vendors that attracted us. Bf and I were on a serious mission for breakfast so we didn't waste any time grabbing whatever caught our eye. First, Bf walked up to Gorkha Palace and tried some Tibetan potstickers. I'm not a huge fan of dinner for breakfast but I tried it, it was good but I let Bf finish them because I had something else in mind. Small donuts covered with powdered sugar were calling my name.
They are called abelskiver or danish donuts. They were neatly filled with apples and cinnamon before being baked. And with a dusting of powdered sugar and some blueberry topping, I was in heaven. Since my Midwestern roots make me Norwegian and German, it was cool to see all the Nordic influences throughout this city, its not something you find in Philly very often.
They were delicious and I quickly gobbled them down (with Bf's help) so we could get to what was next - grilled sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant. Yum! I could have eaten the whole thing but reluctantly shared it with Bf while standing along the Mississippi River.
If you can believe it, we were still hungry or maybe it just felt like that because there were so many things left to try. So we find Little Sis and her bf (Migs) and jump in a long line for a food truck. They discuss the menu as they stand in line and right before it was their turn they made their choices. Bf got some kind of tongue (!) tacos and Migs ordered nachos.
As we stood in line we also enjoyed listening to a folk band playing behind us.
At this point we decided we needed a seat so we found some tables and chairs inside the old mill, which also held more vendors. I got some coffee for us and we all sat down. We were busy chatting about the wedding later that day, but my head was elsewhere. I couldn't stop thinking about some of the fruit pies I saw on the way in. So I went back out to explore and make a good choice to satisfy my sweet tooth.
Pie on a stick or queen of tarts?
The mini pie won! After we were done stuffing our faces we needed to get on the road to Eau Claire, WI for a Midwestern wedding! Here are some pictures from this beautiful afternoon at Fannie Hill...
The happy bride and groom! The garden wedding was beautiful, they chose my favorite colors purple and purple. We were in a stunning area of Eau Claire with beautiful views. The cocktail hour was held outside which allowed us an opportunity for pictures and to spy on the marital wedding shoot!

I had the best seat for the first dance to When You Say Nothing At All by Allison Krauss. Here is a video set to scenes from romantic films. It includes two of my favorites A Room With a View and Pride and Prejudice! Enjoy :)
After their dance and some games for all their adorable nieces and nephews we were ready to party! And our table owned the dance floor that night, it was a blast! Bf and I danced to Firework by Katy Perry (it references the 4th of July) and we all had fun with a little Don't Stop Believing!

Dancing isn't fun unless you're screaming the lyrics in someone's face
We ended the night happy and tired, and after a quick shuttle back to the hotel it was time to get rested for our third day in Minnesota!
