Kennett Brewfest

Last weekend Bf and I attended the Kennett Square Brewfest with a few friends. The drive was a bit longer than we had expected but well worth it once we arrived in town.  It has such a lovely downtown, I will definitely be going back and writing more about this place in the future. One his work buddies, B.A., lives in Kennett so once we arrived we only had a short walk over to the fest.
Bf had gone last October and I've been hearing about it for almost a year, so I was happy it finally came around again. We had bought our tickets online about a month ahead of time and Bf proudly let me know a few weeks ago that the fest was completely sold out. Just another fact to support his claims of its awesomeness. After waiting at the entrance to be admitted, we got our mini mugs and hopped in the first short line we saw.
Still deciding just how awesome the place was...
Well after a few delicious sips of "free" beer, I decided he was right (to tell you the truth I never really doubted him). They had over 80 keg tapping vendors, each with their own variety of beers to taste. In the beginning we didn't have much of a plan, just stopping at the next closest tent, but as time started running out we got serious about the stops we wanted to make.
Our crew minus me - B.A., Corrs, J.S., and Bf
I have no idea how many tastes I had, how much fun could I have possibly been having if I had counted? I do know that my favorites were Lancaster Brewery's Raspberry Wheat and Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin Ale. Yum! I went back to each 3 times :) It gave me just enough false confidence to brave the porta potties. Which, by the way, makes my second porta potty experience in just a few weeks! If only the bathrooms were as fancy as this old school trailer turned ATM!
B.A. and Bf started to get silly as we were finishing out our second hour.

Bf and another work buddy, Corrs filling up again
When they were about to close the doors on us, we started to walk back to Bill's house for some homemade chili and hard cider! On top of the homemade goodies, we also enjoyed being entertained by his sweet little girls, you can read more about them (and their wonderful parents) on their Mom's blog here. We finished off the evening with some more cider around their outdoor fire pit. Another wonderful weekend for the books!
