Twelve Days of Christmas

I am exploding with Christmas spirit since Bf and I had our party on Saturday night. I almost wish we had a chance to throw it all over again since it happened so early in the season, but I am looking forward to the rest of our holiday events. I would like to share my top twelve favorite things about Christmas to hold you over until I collect photos from the party! I've been unsuccessful at balancing the role of a hostess between cooking, chatting, cleaning up, greeting new guests, making sure everyone is comfortable, and also taking pictures. Next year will be better!

1. In our family we take great pride in how we present our gifts to each other. We make sure to wrap all of our gifts with matching paper and ribbon, sometimes taking extra care to stick a little ornament under the bow.

2. Christmas bedding is the perfect way to feel surrounded by the holidays every single night! One day I will splurge and get a Christmas bedding collection, not only flannel sheets!

3. Hang Christmas ornaments in a window because they look gorgeous when the light hits them as they spin. Actually hanging anything from your ceiling can be beautiful.

4. I love wreaths with bright red ribbons in every window. This has always been my preferred outdoor decoration. So simple yet festive.

5. Decorating the inside of your house with a huge garland running down a staircase. Hopefully you don't ever have to do this but a garland may be good enough if you can't have a tree!

6. A classic plaid tablecloth to decorate your holiday table. Choose your favorite tartan and drape it anywhere you like!

7.  I love looking out my window to see greens stuffed anywhere they can fit. This year I've stuck holly and tree branches every place I could outside (well on my balcony).

8. Christmas has always felt like a very romantic time of year to me. From the song "Baby it's cold outside" to kissing under the mistletoe, it's a great time of year to be in love!

9. While I have a collection of Christmas movies that I watch every year, my new favorite tradition is my Christmas movie day with Bf (and anyone else who would like to be involved!).

10.  Having a beautiful holiday dress and getting all prettied up for to celebrate. Whether you're two or seventy two, everyone loves buying a new outfit for their holiday outings.

11. A snow covered Christmas morning or any snowy day leading up to the 25th will do. There's nothing like having an excuse to stay home to wrap gifts, bake cookies, and enjoy your twinkling tree!

12. I can always count on sharing a delicious Christmas dinner with my family and friends. And who doesn't love a beautiful candlelit table?

What are some of your favorites?

And I love this, too. You are keeping me in Christmas spirit here en route home from Christmas dinner.
