Clover Market Flea Market

On a recent weekend trip to Wayne, a suburb of city in the "Mainline" area, I found this ad tucked in a boutique's corner window.

If you haven't noticed already I am a sucker for smart advertising. I made a note of the market in my iPhone and remembered to google it later on at home. I happily discovered that this market is owned and operated by a local interior designer. It is only held for a few Sundays each season so to make sure I didn't miss it, I quickly sent out my invites for the market coming up in June. After a little selling, Mom and little sis signed up to join me in the  suburbs for a day of shopping.
Even though I was looking forward to the market, I recently decided to save my pennies. I do not NEED one thing for my tiny city apartment, so I knew ahead of time I wouldn't be coming home with any goodies. I can't possibly fit any more furniture without losing a current piece, so I have to be very careful with my purchases. A part of me can't wait until I move to the suburbs and can go back to being an antique shopping maniac, driving around in my sweet SUV that I can't have in the city. Anyway, back to reality.
In the city we have the famous area in Washington Square called Antique Row. When I first moved here I was anxious to explore this area to see what amazing items I could find. However, I quickly realized that most of these musty, dusty shops don't house the cute, vintage, cottage items I prefer. This is why I have found myself in the suburbs trying to get my fix.
On that Sunday morning we easily found the market tucked into a parking lot in the heart of Ardmore. The first one we came upon was called Cottage Home, a little shop run by a mother and daughter who share a love for vintage items. Well this mother/daughters team also share a love for vintagey items, smiles all around. So many beauties caught my eye; a white coffee table, antique typewriter, and beach decorations but I forced myself to just enjoy the view. Mom and little sis both made purchases for their already beautiful homes and we moved on.
I loved that reproduction vintage pail and the table holding the shells, but I persevered!
I also spent some time admiring the handmade childrens clothing at a shop called Chirp & Bloom. Their booth was so cleverly decorated with bright curtains and onesies hanging along a clothesline, that I couldn't possibly miss it. Luckily I had no one to buy for, but will keep this place in mind in the future. Bf has an adorable little niece that would look super cute in most of these outfits. But I think I'll wait a little longer before I start showering her with gifts (and she's already dressed super cute anyway!).
I snagged this pic from Clover Market's blog
This was one of my favorites pieces, it was found at a cute little antique stand. I can't remember the name but could possibly be this place in Chaddsford. Maybe I can convince bf to hit up Chaddsford Winery this summer and perhaps stumble upon this place on the same day. If not, I'm sure I'll run into them at Clover Market in September. And I'm hoping that by fall I will have cleared out a space so I can come home with one of these "lucky finds".
